Environment for Traffic Volume Surveys for the Project Road Asset Management for
National Highways and State Highways in Kerala.
It is required to carry out traffic volume count studies at various road sections in Thrissur
district as part of this project
Survey Type: Traffic Volume Count
Location : Thrissur At 6 mid-block locations
Surveying: Data collection using manual count and video graphic method.
Extraction of data by counting of vehicles classified by the type of vehicle during the
specified duration.

Department of Civil Engineering, Jyothi Engineering College collaborated with Industry Attachment Cell, APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, Thiruvananthapuram on Kerala State IT Mission project to map some of the urban local bodies in Kerala (Municipalities and Corporations). The department took up the challenge of mapping important public institutions, roads and ward boundary of an urban local body selected, Shornur Municipality. Mr. Parthiban P , AP, CE was the point of Contact. The project was completed in three months with the support of faculty members and BTech students. A total of 33 wards and its associated feactures were mapped.
