Kerala Technological university (KTU), Kerala Start Up Mission in association with the Universiti Teknologi MARA Malaysia and St. Thomas College of Engineering and Technology organized DEKATHON 2022; An Indo – Malaysian Hackathon on Process and Product Design from 16th – 18th November 2022.
The team from our college under the guidance of Mr. Nice Menachery participated in the National level competition and grabbed the first prize. They were awarded a cash prize of Rs.40,000/- , a momento, and certificates. Also, they are eligible for an eight day fully sponsored internship at UITM University, Malaysia.
110 teams from all over India registered for the event, out of which 75 teams were shortlisted. 12 teams reached the finals and our team won the first prize. They prepared a project with the aim of zero sanitary waste pollution. The project focused on the disposal of adult and baby diapers.

KARTHAVYA, the 48 hour national level hackathon was organised from 1 st December 2023 – 3 rd December 2023 by Jyothi Engineering College, Cheruthuruthy, Thrissur in association with Kerala Institute for Local Administration(KILA), Thrissur District Panchayath, Suchitwa Mission, IEDC_JEC, IIC_JEC, ISTE_JEC and Kerala Startup Mission(KSUM). The theme of the hackathon was ‘Safe and Scientific Solid Waste Management.’ There were 70 registrations from 11 states out of which 30 were shortlisted representing 20 colleges.
