Jyothi Engineering College Cheruthuruthy, Thrissur celebrated the National Science Day on 23rd February 2018, sponsored by Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE) and supported by Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India. Jyothi Engineering College Cheruthuruthy, Thrissur celebrated the National Science Day on 28th February 2017, sponsored by Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE) and supported by Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India. It was inaugurated by Dr. K M Durga Devi, Professor, Kerala Agricultural University, Vellanikkara.The gathering was welcomed by Fr. John Tharayil, Head of the Department, Basic Science and Humanities Department. Dr. K K Babu, Principal delivered the Presidential address. This was followed by a special address by Fr. Roy Joseph Vadakkan, Asst. Seminar on "Issues, Challenges & Strategies in Technical education with Reference to Science & Humanities’"

The Dept of Basic Science and Humanities organized a seminar on ‘ Issues, Challenges & Strategies in Technical education with Reference to Science & Humanities’ on 4th and 5 th February 2016. Padmashree Dr. T A Sundar Menon inaugurated the seminar. More than 70 delegates participated in the two-day seminar, which included 51 participants from other colleges. Various topics relating to significance of basic sciences in technical education, solar cells, problems faced by the public by using mercury were discussed in the seminar. Seminar included a session on effective use of management techniques for engineers and professionals.

National Science Day Celebration 2024

Science Day Celebration 2024 was held on March 2, 2024, organized by The Department of Basic Science and Humanities, in association with ISTE student Chapter Jyothi Engineering College with the aim of promoting scientific awareness, education, and innovation among students. The event was presided over by the principal Dr. Jose P. Therattil. The HoD of BSH department delivered the welcome address. Chief guest Dr. A. K. Sivadasan (Asst. Professor, Govt. Polytechnic College, Perinthalmanna/ Chief Minister’s Nava Kerala Post Doctoral Fellow) inaugurated the national science day celebration. It was followed by the prize distribution to the winners of the presentation competition held by Jyothi Engineering college on February 28, 2024, in honor of World Science Day. The chief guest Dr. A. The Basic Science and Humanities Department of Jyothi Engineering College has organized a Two-Day International Workshop on “APPLICATIONS OF STOCHASTIC PROCESSES” on 16th and 17th January, 2024.
